Rest Stop Captain
Overview
The Rest Stop Captain gets riders the fuel they need to pedal 10, 30, or 50 miles. They are a logistics wizard and a gracious host. The Captain and their deputies will keep our riders hydrated and happy whatever route they choose.
Key Duties
- Work with staff to plan layout of each rest stop
- (With staff) Create schedule for delivering food and water to each rest stop
- (With staff) Recruit 4 or more deputies
- Lead trainings on rest stop layout, setup and teardown for deputies and volunteers
- Remain in constant contact with staff during the event
The Commitment

Spring: attend captain kick-off (date TBD), 1 early planning meeting
- Spring/Summer: contact potential deputies
- Summer: lead at least 2 rest stop trainings
- Sunday September 21:
- 6am – 8am: final set up of rest stops
- 8:30am – 2pm: oversee one rest stop, troubleshoot via phone with deputies at other stops
- 2pm-3pm: oversee rest stop tear down
