Ride Marshal Captains (3)
Overview
Each Ride Marshal Captain knows their route cold. They are the shepherds who guide our riders, deal with any accidents, and keep everyone feeling comfortable and having fun on their bikes. With their trusty crews of deputies and volunteers they keep our riders on course and moving forward.
Key Duties
- Learn all three loops of the route
- (Wtih staff) Recruit 2-3 deputies to become segment experts on the route
- Lead training rides to teach deputies and volunteers the route
- Lead incident trainings on handling flat repair, crashes, dehydration, etc.
The Commitment

Spring: attend captain kickoff meeting (date TBD), at least 2 early route rides to learn route
- Spring/Summer: contact potential deputies
- Summer: lead 2 training rides, incident trainings
- Sunday September 21:
- 6am – 8am: conduct final check of ride marshal supplies, make sure volunteers are ready to go
- 8am – 2pm: ride route with participants, handling any incidents as needed
