Route Clean Captains (3)

Overview

The Route Clean Captains are the bedrock of the event. Without them we would never get permission to hold another Hub On Wheels. Each will follow the ride for the length of their segment in a suitable vehicle, taking down any and all signs related to the event and picking up as much trash as possible.

Key Duties

• Learn all three loops of the route
• Learn assigned segment of the route VERY well, with particular attention to areas that may be difficult to access in a clean up vehicle
• (With staff) Recruit 2-4 volunteers to ride along with cleanup vehicle

The Commitment

• Spring: attend captain kickoff meeting (date TBD), at least 1 early route ride to learn route
• Spring/Summer: contact potential volunteers
• Summer: attend 1 training ride
• Sunday September 21:
  • 7:30am – 8:30am: final confirmation that crew present, vehicles and equipment ready
  • 8:30am – 2pm: follow route, clearing signs / trash
  • 2pm: delivery of all collected signs and equipment to storage locker
